IT Archivist at FOI
FOI, the Total Defense Research Institute, is one of Europe's leading institutes for applied research in defense and security. FOI is an authority under the Ministry of Defense, tasked with conducting research, method and technology development, as well as investigations for total defense and support for disarmament, non-proliferation, and international security. Our operations are primarily commissioned by the Government Offices, the Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), and the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB). At FOI, we have approximately 1400 employees, of which over 1000 work directly with research and development. About the Position
FOI is in a strong growth phase and we are now looking for an IT Archivist to complement our section! In the role of IT Archivist, you will be part of a team of archivists who work together to develop FOI's digital information management. You will participate in government-wide projects and development work conducted within the information management area, including e-archive projects. Your role includes driving the agency's information management and archiving routines in a digital direction. Additionally, you are expected to monitor and follow developments in digital archiving. You will participate in the requirements specification work for a technical solution regarding e-archives, making it important for you to communicate between IT and archives.
About the Unit
You will be part of the Information Management section within the Legal Unit, which belongs to the Research Support Department. The section consists of archivists, registrars/document controllers, and a section manager. Currently, the section has 11 employees and is located in Kista.

Do you have the competence profile we need?
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- a relevant education in either systems science, information systems, or archival science,
- current knowledge of legislation, standards, and governing specifications in the archival field,
- experience in requirements specification of software/IT systems from a preservation and lifecycle perspective,
- worked with the implementation of systems and delivery work, preferably e-archives,
- good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, in both Swedish and English.
To thrive and succeed in the role of IT Archivist, a positive attitude towards tasks and the organization is crucial. You are confident and experienced in your area of expertise and have the ability to translate your knowledge into concrete solutions. You have good analytical skills and can handle complex issues while maintaining a holistic view in your work. You are expected to take responsibility for your tasks and drive processes forward in a structured and efficient manner. Good collaboration and clear communication with colleagues are essential. We place great importance on your personal qualities!
Meritorious
It is meritorious if you have:
- worked with/experience in the design and completion of policy documents/strategies for electronic preservation and follow-up of measures,
- experience in disposal investigations of operational systems/information systems and digital documents/data.

The position is a permanent employment that may start with a six-month probationary period.
