About us

The Children and Youth Department cares for children aged 0–17 with varying diagnoses across many specialties.

We work from a holistic perspective with the child and guardians at the center. Play therapy is a natural part of our work. We place great importance on preparing the child for examinations and treatments, so that children and guardians feel involved and have control over their situation.

We care for medicine, surgical, and ENT patients as well as orthopedic patients. There are many professionals available in the team around the child's care – doctors, pediatric nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, child nurses, psychologists, social workers, play therapists, dietitians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. As a nurse, you work to provide good and safe care to our patients. You lead and are responsible for the nursing work and are often the one who sees the individual's entire care process.

About our open position

As a senior nurse in the Children and Youth Department, you are a nursing specialist and a key player in providing patients with safe and high-quality care. You teach your knowledge and create security for your less experienced colleagues. We offer a combined position where you work 50% as a senior nurse and 50% as a nurse in the unit. The distribution is agreed upon with your immediate supervisor and may vary over time. The position includes weekend work.

You are an expert in your field and have high clinical competence. You handle all tasks within the area and educate and supervise others, both internally and externally. You are responsible for identifying educational needs and following up and developing the department's work methods, routines, and guidelines. You will collaborate closely with the unit's other senior nurse.

In your daily work, you support and guide colleagues to create security and quality. You are involved in the introduction and mentoring of newly hired nurses as well as nurses with less experience. As a senior nurse, you are responsible for conveying your knowledge and keeping yourself updated with new information. You are responsible for routines, guidelines, and work orders and educate in pediatric and adolescent care. You have overall responsibility and plan and direct your work based on the needs of the operation in collaboration with the unit manager. You are engaged, have a positive attitude, and contribute your broad medical knowledge to the team. You have a genuine interest in pediatric and adolescent care and in developing colleagues.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a Swedish nursing license, a specialization in pediatric and adolescent care (60 HP), and at least 10 years of professional experience. Since you will be mentoring, we see it as an advantage if you have completed student supervision (7.5 HP). You have a drive and interest in mentoring and supporting colleagues in their professional development and are confident in your professional role. You are passionate about pediatric and adolescent care and have extensive experience in meeting children, adolescents, and their families. You know that it is through collaboration with patients, relatives, colleagues, other caregivers, and across clinic boundaries that we achieve the best results.
