We are now looking for a part-time school librarian for the municipality's primary schools; Snörrum School f-3 and Haga School 4-9.

The school library should be part of the educational activities in the school. The school library's activities should contribute to promoting reading and media and information literacy among students, contribute to good academic results, and promote culture, literature, and education in a broader sense. According to the Library Act, special focus should be placed on people with disabilities, national minorities, and individuals who have a different mother tongue than Swedish.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Your task as a school librarian will be to work in collaboration with other school staff to increase interest in reading and enhance knowledge about information retrieval among students. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing the school library's collection of media and for making the school library and its resources accessible to students and teachers.

The Education Act will be renewed in July 2025 with an emphasis on the role of the school library in the school. The changes mean that the school library must be staffed and that Dals-Eds municipality, as the principal, needs to develop a library plan that specifies how the purpose of the school library activities will be achieved. In 2025, you are expected to lead a working group with representatives from the schools and the principal to develop such a plan.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for someone with a university degree in library and information science, or alternatively a degree from another relevant higher education program. You want to be a driving force in the development of the primary school's library and implement improvements together with students, teachers, and school management, in accordance with current and upcoming legislation. Based on your knowledge in library and information science, you can complement and be a partner for teachers and a support for students regarding reading promotion and media and information literacy.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:

• Fixed-term employment until 251231, with the possibility of extension.
• Start date 250301 or by agreement.
• Employment rate 20%
• Work scheduled during the day.
