In Krokom municipality, we have youth centers in four locations: Föllinge, Änge, Ås, and Krokom. We are currently in great need of staff at several of our centers. Do you enjoy working with young people and want to contribute to their meaningful leisure time? Do you want to help create conditions for a developing, safe, drug-free, and pleasant environment? Then you might be the youth leader we are looking for!

We are also looking for those who are open to working on an hourly basis as needed at one or more of our youth centers. Please indicate in your application if you are interested in a part-time position or an hourly contract.

Welcome to us! Within culture and leisure, there are 17 permanent employees, but we also have project and hourly workers. Our needs may vary, and we therefore keep the application open year-round. Currently, we are running youth center activities in Ås, Krokom, Änge, and Föllinge. Working with youth is both fun, varied, and developing!

The culture and leisure department is part of the growth area within the municipal management administration. All operations within the growth area have a responsibility to contribute to sustainable growth in Krokom municipality. This includes departments such as business, property, planning and traffic, waste management, water and sewage, and learning centers.

The municipal management administration supports three committees: the municipal council, the building and environmental committee, and the community development committee. The administration employs about 135 staff members and is divided into areas of staff, building and environment, and community development and growth.

An Evening as a Youth Leader at the Youth Center

Working as a youth leader at a youth center is varied and includes both operational and administrative tasks. The youth centers are open in the evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, primarily targeting middle and high school students.

You are responsible for planning, running, and developing the youth center's activities in collaboration with local associations, schools, and other organizations. You are an important link between the youth and various agencies. In your work, you will also collaborate closely with the municipality's youth culture coordinator.

You will be part of a team that works to reach as many young people as possible and provide them with meaningful leisure time. You will work from a promoting perspective, offering children and youth a meaningful and activity-based leisure time that is based on participation and influence.

Your Competence

You are passionate about working with the youth center's target group and want to create a developing, safe, drug-free, and pleasant environment. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to connect with both young and old. You enjoy taking initiative and feel responsible for developing the operations.

Requirements

• You are at least 20 years old and have good experience working with children and youth.
• You are a trained youth leader or have another education and/or experience that the employer finds equivalent or relevant.
• We require a criminal record check.

Meritorious

• You are comfortable working preventively and proactively, and you have awareness of norm-critical and democratic work.

Other Information

Our ambition is to keep our youth centers open two evenings a week from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. We are therefore looking for both those who can work occasional shifts and those willing to work regularly at 25%.
