We are now looking for a deacon who wants to be an inspirer and coordinator in the diaconal work, create opportunities for community and deepening, provide pastoral care and meet people's existential questions, as well as be a voice for those whose dignity is violated.

Krokom Parish consists of seven congregations, all characterized by a diaconal approach. The parish includes both rural areas, urban centers, many villages, and beautiful nature. Krokom Parish wants to keep Christ at the center, with worship as the core, and to create space for community, faith, ideals, and sustainability to grow.

We strive to have a natural place in the public space of society. This is achieved through various meeting places, and in Krokom, there is a social café, Café Hopp, which serves as a hub for the congregations' diaconal work. We have a good collaboration with other actors in our community such as the municipality, health center, and various associations.

Job Responsibilities

The position involves a wide range of meetings with people of all ages, with a particular focus on those who are or are at risk of becoming vulnerable due to loneliness, mental health issues, and social exclusion.

You will work in a creative team together with a diaconal assistant, staff at Café Hopp, and volunteers. The assignment includes individual meetings both within and outside the church's activities, as well as leading various group activities, devotions, and peace services.

Inspiring, leading, and facilitating people's participation is a significant part of the diaconal mission. Most of the assignments will be located in Krokom, and the position is based in Krokom, but work in the other congregations may also be relevant.

Qualifications

• We are looking for someone who is an ordained deacon or is about to be ordained as a deacon.
• Previous experience in diaconal work is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities.
• In this position, one needs to be proactive, able to work in a structured manner, be independent, and enjoy working collaboratively with others.

Requirements for the Position

• You must have good language skills in Swedish, where you can express yourself well in both speech and writing.
• A valid driver's license (B) is required, as well as access to your own car.
