Occupational Therapist for the Primary Care Department in Västerås

Exciting things are happening in Västerås! We hope you want to join us in continuing to develop our new primary care department as part of the transition to Close Care. Take the opportunity to help shape a new workplace!

Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist with us, you will work alongside competent colleagues to meet patients with various needs. The work consists of standard occupational therapy tasks such as ADL assessments, training, assistive device management, and planning for discharge. Supervision of students is included in the role. The documentation system we use is Cosmic.

You will work alongside a physiotherapist as part of the department's team. There are also colleagues at the Rehabilitation Unit in Sala to collaborate with.

We are a department under construction, which means you are expected to contribute to the development of the operations.

About the Workplace

The department is part of a regional clinic, Primary Care East, with operations in both Västerås and Sala. In Västerås, in addition to the Primary Care Department, there is the Primary Care Team Västerås-Surahammar, the AH Team in Västerås, the Palliative Department, and the Palliative Advisory Team. In Sala, there is the sister department Ward 1, the Medical Reception, the Primary Care Team in Sala, the Rehabilitation Unit, and the AH Team in Sala. The clinic plays an important role in the transition to Close Care by offering care at different levels, mobility in various forms, and care closer to home.

The goal of the department is to optimize care with a focus on what benefits the individual, rather than maximizing the care efforts. This includes clear planning for discharge from the hospital to create security for both the patient and those who will take over care after discharge. The department will initially consist of 16 care places with the goal of expanding over time.

For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, which is why we offer you:

  • tailored introductory program to help you feel secure in your professional role
  • opportunity for professional development through internal training
  • free access to our fully equipped gym
  • wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist, preferably with experience in the field. If you have previous experience working in similar regional operations, it is an advantage. Since you need to communicate verbally and in writing with patients, relatives, and colleagues, good knowledge of the Swedish language is required.

At the Primary Care Department, we work in teams and have close collaboration with the municipality and healthcare partners within the region, which means we have high demands for good collaboration skills, the ability to see the whole picture, and the ability to communicate clearly. Our patients are elderly and multi-ill, where you are expected to be accommodating and empathetic in your approach. Since we are a department under construction, we see that you are a person who thrives in and wants to be involved in development and change work. The work can change rapidly in various ways, so you need to be flexible and able to maintain your calm and focus in stressful situations. Furthermore, you are expected to have a good ability to structure your work independently and take responsibility for your tasks.

Employment Conditions

Permanent position, full-time with placement in Västerås.

Application

Welcome with your application by February 2, 2025. Interviews may occur on an ongoing basis, so do not wait with your application. Attach relevant certificates and transcripts with your application.
