Occupational Therapist at the Orthopedic Clinic Västmanland

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an occupational therapist who is interested in developing within your profession. With us, you will work with varied tasks. Since we operate in both Västerås and Köping, the tasks will vary depending on where your workday is located.

In Köping, the workday consists of outpatient activities where you meet patients with various hand injuries. As a newcomer to the workplace, you are expected to initially meet patients with simpler injuries.

In Västerås, you will also work in our orthopedic department, including ADL assessments, ADL training, and assistive device evaluations.

The development opportunities are good as we have broad expertise within the team and also facilitate further education. In the rehabilitation of hand injuries, treatments include compression therapy, instructing exercises, evaluating and manufacturing orthoses. We have a close collaboration with our hand surgeons and outpatient staff. The work requires that you can work independently, take your own initiatives, and that you are flexible.

We work with mentorship, and when you come as a newcomer to the workplace, you will be assigned a mentor with experience. Within the staff group, we have a range of ages and experiences. About the Workplace

The Orthopedic Clinic Västmanland is responsible for orthopedic care in the region. Major planned surgeries and all emergency care take place at Västmanlands Hospital Västerås, while less extensive planned surgeries are largely performed at Västmanlands Hospital Köping and Sala. At the rehabilitation unit in Västerås, about 30 employees work, consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and nursing assistants. In Köping, 3 occupational therapists work with orthopedic hand injury rehabilitation.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist.

Experience from orthopedic operations and expertise in hand rehabilitation is meritorious. We would like you to have experience in ward work and prescribing rights for assistive devices. If you have previously worked in the Cosmic journal system, it is an advantage. The work requires that you have good computer skills and knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.

Employment Conditions

Temporary position for 12 months, with daytime work on weekdays. Start in spring/summer 2025 or as agreed. Workdays may be located in both Västerås and Köping.

Part-time or full-time.
