Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Pedagogue/Treatment Assistant
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS youth home Rebecka receives non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and substance abuse.
Job Description
Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment pedagogue/treatment assistant at SiS. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge and skills in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines, and you help ensure that everyday life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. In the role of treatment pedagogue, contact person duties may be included. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.
The working hours are according to a schedule, including day, evening, and weekend shifts.
As a summer temporary worker at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Qualifications
The following qualification requirements apply for each role:
- Treatment Assistant
- Completed upper secondary education.
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations.
- Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
- Driving license B
- Treatment Pedagogue
- Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that we assess as equivalent.
- Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
- Driving license B
Experience in care and/or substance abuse treatment is advantageous.
To be eligible for employment, you must have completed the entire introductory training.
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values, being a place for change. You have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people and/or clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time establishing good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period; therefore, if you work full-time as a monthly employed temporary worker for more than four weeks, you will receive a bonus.
