About the position

At the Endocrinology Clinic in Huddinge, highly specialized investigations and treatments of acute and chronic endocrine conditions in hormone-producing organs such as pituitary and adrenal diseases are conducted. Our research unit is strongly linked to our clinic with good collaboration.

With us, doctors, nurses, research nurses, nursing assistants, and administrative staff work together with a dietitian.

As a nurse in an endocrinology unit, you will learn to perform hormonal load tests (administer a medication and then measure the effect on hormone response through blood sampling). Provide care and education to patients with hormonal diseases (such as thyroid disease, adrenal diseases, pituitary diseases), administer prescribed treatments, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals for patients with more extensive care needs.

As a research nurse, you will learn various methods to collect data for our research studies. You will also engage in some data processing. Our research focuses on metabolism and liver disease related to diabetes, among other things. There are 3 other research nurses in the unit in Huddinge. The researcher you will work closest with in the unit is Professor Stefano Romeo and his future research group. Your immediate supervisor will be OVC in the section for diabetes and metabolism in Huddinge.

As a nurse with us, you will:

  • meet unique patients with unusual and interesting diagnoses
  • administer treatments (injections and infusions)
  • perform hormonal investigation tests (loads)
  • work to ensure evidence-based care is offered
  • promote collaboration between different professions to provide patients with effective, safe, and person-centered care.
  • act as a contact nurse
  • work partially with administrative tasks and case management in 1177 and TeleQ.

As a research nurse with us, you will:

  • learn new research methods
  • work with simpler data processing
  • participate in a research group that is being established under the leadership of Professor Romeo.

The position includes work in inpatient care if the need arises.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Licensed nurse
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Good knowledge of Take Care

Meritorious:

  • Experience in outpatient work
  • Experience in inpatient care
  • Experience in endocrinology
  • Experience in research work, preferably GCP training
  • Competence in Excel
