The Social Services Department has a broad area of responsibility that includes authority exercise and preventive measures, such as child and youth care, addiction care, domestic violence, financial assistance, and family law.

The operational unit works at different levels with early support and prevention for children, young people, and their families.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a social worker with experience in investigating children and youth in social services? We are looking for someone with the ability and willingness to work with parents and their network's existing resources, and who has the competence to strengthen these to avoid placements and separations between children and parents. We strive for a creative and open working method to meet the needs of reality and hope you want to become part of our unit.

The unit consists of the Child Safety Team, School Team, Safety Team, Valsta Group, and Community Mothers. The unit is led by a unit manager together with coordinators, social workers, family therapists, and treatment assistants. In our teams, we work with investigations, interventions, and safety planning based on Signs of Safety with the mission to work intensively with a limited number of families where there is a high concern for violence against the child or other care neglect. We also work with young people at risk of placement due to norm-breaking behavior and criminality.

As a social worker, you will work closely with family therapists and treatment assistants. The work involves conducting investigations and making decisions according to SoL and LVU, as well as being responsible for and driving safety planning in families and networks. The daily work is done in close collaboration with coordinators, with a clear child perspective.

The various professions in the operational unit collaborate closely, each contributing their expertise to support the family forward in a well-structured manner. The work involves both independent work and close collaboration with the team. Since you work independently in the role of social worker in the unit, it is a prerequisite that you have experience and good knowledge of authority exercise regarding children and youth. You should have the ability to meet families where they are and to identify resources for the team to build on.

As a social worker, you will encounter both urgent situations requiring quick solutions as well as cases needing more long-term planning and collaboration with various actors. We prefer that you are someone who enjoys influencing and developing your work and appreciates a varied job with personal responsibility, but also close collaboration with others.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a degree in social work and documented experience in authority exercise within the target group of children and youth.

It is an advantage if you have documented experience of working according to Signs of Safety.

It is also an advantage if you have experience in following up interventions and working in teams.

As a person, you demonstrate emotional stability so that you are calm and handle stress constructively and have the ability to maintain a good mood under pressure and setbacks, focusing on the right things. You are secure in uncertain situations and have the courage to speak up and the ability to distinguish between the issue and the person. You work well with others and are flexible, attentive, and communicate with others constructively.
