The position is located within the section for international client matters and sentence calculation, which belongs to the Legal Department at the headquarters in Norrköping.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your main task is to handle and make decisions in centrally placed client matters. This involves cases regarding the transfer of enforcement to and from other countries, cases of international alerts, and cases concerning sentence calculation. You will also provide advice and support to other operations within the relevant legal areas and participate in the authority's practice coordination activities. The work includes ongoing external contacts with, for example, the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor's Office, and the Police Authority, as well as international contacts. The section also collaborates with other functions within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and represents the authority in court in the cases handled by the section.

QUALIFICATIONS

You demonstrate good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions while working towards goals and focusing on results. Furthermore, you are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Law degree or legal higher education degree
• Experience working as a lawyer
• Very good skills in expressing yourself in spoken and written Swedish
• Good skills in expressing yourself in spoken and written English

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working as a lawyer in public service
• Experience making administrative decisions that are intrusive against individuals
• Court experience through, for example, clerkship
• Experience in legal advice
• Experience working with international legal cooperation
• Experience working with sentence calculation
• Good additional language skills beyond Swedish and English

OTHER

We place high demands on our employees' security and confidentiality awareness. To work with us, you need to undergo a security clearance in accordance with the Security Protection Act. The position is classified in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made. During the security clearance, you will be investigated as a person, your background, and your relationships from a security perspective. You need to be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background. You will receive more information about the security clearance during your job interview.
