Economy and Quality Development (EKU) is part of the central staff of the social office, providing support to operations in finance, quality, and development. The staff consists of four units with a total of about 40 employees. One of the units is planning, monitoring, and analysis, where we are now looking for a senior controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a senior controller, you will work both strategically and operationally as an important resource for the entire administration. You will play a key role in leading, driving, and developing the work of our finance function and creating effective working methods with system support. From an overarching perspective and with a holistic view, you will act as a support for other controllers. You will work towards increased quality and deeper analysis in financial reporting.

Your tasks also include environmental analysis, trend spotting, and identifying the finance function's opportunities to streamline, facilitate, and enhance quality in operations. You will work with both overarching complex issues and detailed questions, clearly communicating these to your surroundings.

As a senior controller, you will act as central support to the department and assist in preparing service documents and presentation materials. You will also create calculation models for future financial scenario outcomes that change based on different conditions. In your role, you will also provide financial support to the committee chair, administrative manager, and other managers in the staff.

You are expected to stay updated on changes in administrative routines, guidelines, and digital systems, and inform those affected about changed routines when necessary. You actively work for the organization's values and equity and contribute to a positive work climate.

QUALIFICATIONS

To succeed in the role of senior controller, you need a degree in business administration or equivalent education at the university level with a focus on finance. You have digital competence, are used to working with the Office suite, especially Excel, and have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with various systems and use them effectively.

Experience in financial management is a prerequisite, as well as having worked on developing monitoring models and educational tools that increase understanding of financial relationships and their connection to operational benefits.

You should also have experience in leadership responsibilities, for example, in leading teams, processes, or projects, as well as developing, documenting, and implementing processes.

In addition, very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required, with the ability to express yourself clearly and tailored to different target groups. You also need to communicate well in English, both verbally and in writing.

It is desirable that you have experience in change work, such as introducing new working methods or business systems, as well as experience in analysis and statistics. It is an advantage if you have experience working in a politically governed organization and knowledge of processes and responsibilities within public operations.

As a person, you are structured and goal-oriented, which means you have the ability to organize and prioritize your work effectively. You are confident and handle challenges with a balanced approach, building strong relationships through your ability to collaborate and create trust. Additionally, you have an analytical ability that allows you to identify problems and find solutions in a logical and systematic way.

The employees of the social office provide care, support, and assistance to people throughout Skellefteå. They may be elderly, people with physical or mental disabilities, or individuals and families in need of special support for a period.

Our operations are located throughout the municipality, and we have specialists in several areas within care, support, food, and activation for people with disabilities, addiction treatment, family counseling, and much more.
