Graduate Engineer Program at Svenska kraftnät

About the Program

This graduate program is conducted in the departments of Station Technology and Line Technology, consisting of approximately 15 graduate engineers. For one year, you will have the opportunity to work in three different technical areas within these departments. This will be complemented by various training sessions and study visits conducted with the entire program group within the departments.

About the Position

The department is responsible for the technical design and development of Svenska kraftnät's overhead lines and sea and land cable installations. The department provides specialist expertise and technical support to both management and project operations.

If you apply for this position, you will be placed in the Overhead Line Technology Construction unit. Here, several technical experts in steel, concrete, and geotechnics work together to be responsible for the technical design of overhead line poles and their foundations. In the future, you will work with complex and advanced technical solutions within power line poles and steel.

The position is based at our headquarters in Sundbyberg.

Your Responsibilities

In your future role as a technical engineer, you will be responsible for the construction and quality issues that arise within our project operations. You will coordinate the work around pole constructions, work on new developments and maintenance of pole constructions, and guide our partners in our construction assignments.

Your tasks will include, among other things:

• Supporting projects and other operations in construction matters
• Working with 3D modeling of Svenska kraftnät's overhead line poles
• Technical requirement specification and review of technical documents
• Participating in the development and updating of technical guidelines in the area
• Independently designing steel details for overhead line poles
• Coordinating and reviewing construction work performed by our partners

Your Background

We are looking for someone with a Master's or Bachelor's degree in engineering from 2023, 2024, or expected to graduate in the summer of 2025, in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent as assessed by the authority.

The graduate engineer program is aimed at newly graduated engineers, and we want you to have a maximum of two years of continuous work experience.

Furthermore, you have:

• Theoretical knowledge in strength of materials, steel construction, or steel building
• Experience with CAD software
• Good skills in spoken and written Swedish and English
• Driver's license B.

We consider it advantageous if you have completed your thesis in a relevant area and have experience with software from the Autodesk family.

The work involves many technical challenges, which means we see that a strong interest in technology combined with analytical skills and quality awareness is important for success in the role. You take initiative and make things happen.

The role involves contacts both internally and externally, so it is important that you have good communication skills and find it easy to collaborate with others.
