AB Nykvarnsbostäder (Nybo) is a public housing company that owns, develops, and manages properties within Nykvarn municipality, one of Sweden's fastest-growing municipalities. We currently have about 600 apartments in our portfolio and are also engaged in ongoing new construction with move-in planned for 2025. We also manage municipal properties and business premises, as well as handle the operation and maintenance of the municipality's water and sewage facilities, roads including winter road maintenance, sports facilities, beaches, and parks.

Main tasks and responsibilities as an accounting economist at Nykvarnsbostäder

• Ongoing bookkeeping

• Customer invoicing

• Supplier invoices

• Monthly reconciliation of balance accounts

• Monthly closing in collaboration with the controller

• Fixed asset accounting

• Reconcile and report VAT, tax, employer contributions, periodic summaries, and reporting to SCB

• Preparation of annual reports and budgets in collaboration with the controller

• Contacts with auditors

We are looking for someone who meets the following requirements:

· Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or another relevant field

· At least 5 years of experience in accounting, year-end closing, tax returns, reconciliations

· Knowledge of tax issues for property companies is an advantage

· Good knowledge of laws, regulations, and recommendations in the field

· Good experience with fixed asset accounting

· As a person, we wish for you to be self-sufficient and professional in your work approach. You are naturally service-oriented and structured.

What we offer

In this role, you will receive a solid training period alongside a mentor. You will have the opportunity to work side by side with our current accounting economist and our controller and learn how we operate at Nykvarnsbostäder so that you are ready to take on the responsibility when our current accounting economist retires after the summer.

The position is a permanent employment with a 6-month probationary period, with start as soon as possible or by agreement. The placement is at our office at Norra Stationsvägen 26, Nykvarn. Our office is located in central Nykvarn, just a short walk from Nykvarns Centrum, train, and bus station.
