JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In your role, you will guide and implement pedagogical methods in client-facing work, and you will also keep yourself updated on new research and evidence-based knowledge. You will collaborate with the unit manager to develop the pedagogical work. From a client perspective, you will work with values and quality that strengthen the client's participation, self-determination, and integrity.
Creating educational materials for your colleagues and guiding them in writing and updating implementation plans is also part of your role. You will also work on implementing alternative and augmentative communication (AAC). You will participate in the daily tasks of housing support together with your colleagues.
The target group for mobile support is individuals with intellectual disabilities, individuals with significant cognitive difficulties not due to mental illness, neuropsychiatric disabilities, or developmental disorders. The housing support service is granted to individuals aged 18-65 who reside in the municipality. The service can be granted after the age of 65 if the person was granted the service before the age of 65 and if the need persists.
The housing support service is offered to individuals who have difficulties with:
• managing their own living situation, obtaining food,
• solving everyday problems
• participating in community
• participating in work or activities
• managing personal care
• utilizing the local community
• organizing their time and leisure
• taking care of themselves
The support can vary over time and should be tailored to individual needs. Care work may occur as well as delegated services from a nurse or physiotherapist, as well as supporting our clients with self-care.
We plan our services in Lifecare Planning and work with this tool out in the field via mobile phones.
We provide services during the day, evening, and weekends. We also have a night patrol that provides housing support at night. As a support educator, you will work during the day, with occasional evenings Monday to Friday.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with post-secondary specialization in the field of disabilities that includes at least 200 vocational training credits or 60 university credits. The education should have a clear focus on the disability area in its entirety. We want you to have experience working with people with disabilities. We prefer that you have good knowledge and experience of both intellectual and neuropsychiatric disabilities (Autism Spectrum/ADHD). Good knowledge and experience of structured pedagogy/TEACCH and low-arousal approaches are also meritorious. We would also like you to have experience with other methods/models such as communication aids, AAC, Conversation Mat, and MI targeted at the target group.
The role requires that you have good computer skills and a strong interest in digital technology. The work requires you to be able to guide and support your colleagues regarding social documentation and IBIC. Since the work requires communication and documentation, we expect you to master the Swedish language in both speech and writing. A driving license (category B) is required, preferably for a manual transmission.
As a person, you are socially competent and have good collaboration skills. You are stress-resistant, flexible, find solutions in everyday life, and maintain a professional demeanor towards everyone you meet in your work. Furthermore, you have the ability to plan and structure work from a holistic perspective. The work requires you to make independent decisions while also respecting decisions made by others and executing work on behalf of others. You can work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
