The Youth Center (UM) in Skåne consists of eleven physical youth centers and UM Skåne Online where midwives, nurses, and counselors meet patients via video calls. We are organized into five areas, each with its own unit manager under a common operations manager. The centers are well-functioning and pleasant workplaces with dedicated employees. Our mission is to work preventively and health-promoting within the areas of sexual and psychosocial health.

The youth centers in Hässleholm and Kristianstad are a unit with dedicated employees distributed across two well-functioning and pleasant centers. The staff consists of several different professions, and we work with young people from the age of 12 until the day they turn 23.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a counselor with us, you will work with psychosocial assessment and treatment during both physical visits and via video calls. The role mainly involves individual work but also includes preventive and outreach work towards school classes or other groups of young people, as well as collaboration with healthcare neighbors. The work requires a strong commitment and respect for young people's living conditions. We work from a salutogenic perspective with a norm-critical approach.

The work is characterized by interdisciplinary collaboration with other professional groups at the center. Your specific competence is of great importance for the team to be able to offer our patients good interdisciplinary care. We offer you a pleasant workplace with colleagues who care for each other. You will also receive an individually tailored introduction based on your previous knowledge and experience when you start with us. Supervision is included.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. It is strongly meritorious if you have basic psychotherapy corresponding to step 1 and/or are a licensed health and medical care counselor. If you belong to a licensed professional group, language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is a requirement. For non-licensed professions, good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required. Additionally, basic education in sexology, experience in outreach work with young people and collaboration partners, as well as previous work experience at a youth center is advantageous.

To be successful in the role, you need to be able to work both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues. You have a positive outlook and a genuine desire to work preventively. Furthermore, you are confident in your professional role, flexible, and have an easy time building trust with young people.
