About the Workplace

In the city, the social administration is responsible for individual and family care. Our mission is to enable residents to become independent in life so that they can take an active part in society.

We have undergone an exciting organizational change focused on creating a more accessible social service based on three main areas: authority, interventions and services, and housing. The new organization came into effect in October. We have high ambitions. But to succeed, we need you (and a few more).

Domestic violence is in many ways a focus both in the city of Helsingborg and at the national level. On April 1, 2024, new legislation came into effect regarding enhanced protection for children and adults in protected housing. The strengthened protection also means that children in protected housing will have their own placement decision.

A family peace center is being established in Helsingborg, which takes a holistic approach to domestic violence, honor-related violence, as well as human trafficking and prostitution. The family peace center will work preventively against violence, coordinating in a cohesive legal process, as well as with protected housing, support, and interventions. The work of the family peace center is based on an individual and family perspective where flexible teams work according to the needs of the individual and family. As an employee within the authority part, you will have close cooperation with the family peace center, where you will work with others who are also specialists.

Job Responsibilities

As an employee in the domestic violence group, you will have both a fun and varied job with both children and adults who in some way live in a context that involves domestic violence. It is a position primarily responsible for handling cases for children in protected housing. You will also have access to two team leaders for the best support in your daily work.

As a social worker, you will work with investigations regarding the protection needs of children and young people based on violence exposure, follow up on children placed in protected housing, propose interventions, and follow up and evaluate them. You will also need to have close cooperation with the child, the parents, and other colleagues in the domestic violence unit as well as the protected housing.

Qualifications

To manage this specific assignment, you need to have:

• Degree in social work
• Many years of experience in social work and good knowledge of the Social Services Act.
• Several years of experience in authority exercise and placements according to LVU.
• Good knowledge of the legal processes involved in LVU, such as negotiations, administrative law, and appeals.
• Interest, good knowledge, and experience in working with domestic violence.
• Ability to work analytically, reflectively, and process-oriented in flexible teams with a good structure.
• Good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.
• Be well acquainted with BBIC
• Driver's license and ability to drive a car

We consider it meritorious if you have:

• MI (Motivational Interviewing), Signs of Safety, and the operational system Lifecare

• In your work, you will be the child's social worker but also meet the parent(s) based on the child's care needs. This means that you need to be secure in yourself and have good self-awareness and collaboration skills.
• Furthermore, you are solution-focused and flexible in thought, action, and working hours.
