Job Opening: Employment Consultant at the Labor Market and Integration Unit

The Labor Market and Integration Unit (AMI) is responsible for all labor market measures within the municipality's employer area to stimulate employment and combat unemployment in the municipality.

The mission of the Labor Market and Integration Unit is to guide, engage in dialogue with, and support the residents of Borlänge on their path to self-sufficiency. We work strategically and cross-departmentally with the municipality's administrations, the Employment Service, the business community, and others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Labor Market and Integration Unit (AMI) offers employment to individuals with mental disabilities according to the Social Services Act, SoL. In the spring of 2025, we will launch employment opportunities for individuals with substance abuse issues.

As an employment consultant, you will work in the operational systems Lifecare and Viva, conduct assessment interviews, implement decisions on suitable employment placements, and document your work. You will work with placements within existing operations and be responsible for seeking external internships or employment opportunities. If needed, you will also provide support to the internship site.

The job also involves creating and establishing contacts with partners such as the Social Insurance Agency, the Employment Service, companies, associations, social assistance, social services, outpatient psychiatric care, forensic psychiatry, housing support, health centers, and rehab coordinators, as well as other municipal and external parties. An important part of the job is to establish contacts in the labor market for future placements.

QUALIFICATIONS

You should have a university degree with at least 180 ECTS credits in fields such as social sciences, behavioral sciences, or public health, or other relevant education deemed suitable by the employer.

You should have training/courses in psychiatry, addiction, co-occurring disorders, and neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF).

We are looking for someone with documented work experience in working with individuals in psychiatry, social psychiatry, or other equivalent fields.

You should have experience in mentoring/supporting individuals with mental disabilities and/or substance abuse issues. Documentation experience is required. A valid driver's license (B) is also necessary.

It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of people's needs for support towards self-sufficiency and knowledge of the labor market's skills supply needs. It is also beneficial if you have training in MI (Motivational Interviewing) and a solution-focused approach.
