In the heart of Stockholm lies Matteusskolan, a prestigious F-9 school with adapted primary education.

Our mission is to prepare and train students to become active future citizens. We aim for the future by laying the foundation through the curriculum's assignments and subject-specific skills. We take into account and develop towards the City of Stockholm's vision of a Stockholm for all while aiming even further and higher through our own vision of “Wings that Carry for the Future”.

Matteusskolan's vision “Wings that Carry for the Future” means that we will be a school at the forefront with a focus on skills that we assess are important for students' futures. Our task is to allow students to practice and develop these skills during their time with us. We work towards our mission by daring to try and by systematically evaluating and learning from others. We value collegial learning and spend a lot of time on networks, environmental monitoring, and time for joint work. In every interaction with students, we have high expectations, create trusting relationships, strengthen students' self-esteem, and allow each individual to develop to be themselves.

Our slogan, “Knowledge is Power” is taken from the inscription above the school's main entrance. For us, “Knowledge is Power” symbolizes the individual's ability to take control of their own life. During their time with us at Matteusskolan, students will practice and develop knowledge and skills that give them power over their own lives.

In our adapted primary school, there are 25 students in grades F-9. We have students who study subjects and subject areas. As one of our colleagues will go on parental leave, we are now looking for a full-time (100%) substitute teaching assistant. The substitute position extends over the spring term of 2025 with the possibility of extension during the autumn term of 2025.

Responsibilities

The work in the adapted primary school is led by our teachers who have the primary responsibility for teaching. Your task as a teaching assistant is to assist and work with individual students or students in small groups. You should be a calm, flexible, and stress-resistant person. Furthermore, we see that you are a positive person who is solution-oriented. We wish for you to focus on the students while also wanting to help develop the overall operation. Experience working with students with intellectual disabilities is a requirement, and we would like you to have previous experience working in adapted primary education. Good knowledge of Swedish is required, and knowledge of sign language is an advantage.

Your responsibilities include:

• supporting students throughout the school day.
• planning, implementing, and evaluating activities within the after-school program in the afternoon.

You should have good computer skills and be able to document and communicate via IT.
