About the ProjectThis project aims to ensure a reliable and sustainable energy supply for a growing urban region. With a focus on heating, cooling, electricity, and waste management, the project's goal is to contribute to creating a climate-positive urban environment. Through an extensive district heating network, thousands of households, businesses, hospitals, and other operations are connected to modern heating and combined heat and power plants that stretch from the southern to the northern parts of the region.

Project DescriptionThe project involves the construction of a carbon capture facility at a biomass power plant in Stockholm. The goal is to capture 800,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. The technology is called BECCS (Bio Energy Carbon Capture and Storage) and involves capturing, compressing, liquefying, and storing carbon dioxide for further transport.

The project deliveries are divided into different contracts, including EPC and EP contracts, where the main part of the design and construction takes place. The technology includes flue gas compression, absorption, and desorption (Carbon Capture), as well as compression, liquefaction, and purification (Liquefaction) and storage and unloading (Storage and Outshipment). In addition, several auxiliary systems are included, such as steam production, compressed air systems, and water supply. Some parts of the project are also managed in-house as part of the project management.

The client is looking for a Project Manager in Process to lead and drive all activities related to ongoing design and later planned implementation for the Flue Gas subproject, which is one of the most demanding and complex subprojects of the BECCS project.

The Project Manager role will be part of the Carbon Capture, Storage, and Outshipment Project, which consists of the EPC contract. The contract will be conducted in an international environment. The working language in BECCS is English. The role of Project Manager initially pertains to the preliminary design phase, which lasts until the investment decision. The intention is for the assignment to then be extended to the implementation phase from 2025 to 2028. The estimated number of hours is only an assessment based on the known circumstances at the time of the inquiry and does not constitute a commitment to guaranteed occupancy.

Examples of Responsibilities* Budget responsibility for the subproject: equipment, contracts, etc. This involves monitoring outcomes, proactive cost management, and forecasting.* Active time monitoring of the subproject as well as forward forecasting and management of the schedule.* Change management within the subproject and preparation of change requests for project management and steering group.* Actively drive, coordinate, and oversee the subproject from the design phase all the way to commissioning with a perspective based on part of the process.* Monitor and ensure the subproject's interfaces in consultation with the project's Interface Manager.* Ensure review of the contractor's documents such as: P&ID, material lists, and specifications.* Lead and/or participate in meeting forums for budget monitoring, scheduling, design, risk analysis, quality assurance, installation, startup, etc.* Assist in project and technical meetings.* Actively contribute to risk management within the subproject.* Ensure quality assurance of requirements in the subproject.* Assist in dialogues with suppliers.* Travel to contractors and suppliers for meetings, reviews, quality monitoring, etc.

Requirements (Mandatory)

Experience with investment projects in power and heat or equivalent industry. Solid experience with larger rotating machinery. Experience working as a project manager. Experience with cost and time monitoring/management. Good knowledge of applicable regulations and standards within the relevant industry. Experience in developing technical specifications and descriptions and/or familiarity with reading and reviewing drawings, specifications, material lists, calculations, etc. Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written. Education: Engineer or equivalent.

Meritorious

Experience with turbines, compressors, pumps, pressurized systems, and/or flue gas systems or equivalent. Experience working in an international environment. Experience working as a leading process designer or equivalent. Knowledge in related technical areas such as automation and instrumentation. Experience with larger process, mechanical, and piping procurements of mentioned scope, references from similar assignments are requested. Knowledge of construction law, specifically contract forms applicable to the procurement of mechanical installations and piping contracts.
