Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is significant. Contributing to societal development is even greater. With us, you can do both. We are now looking for paving workers for the Industrial division and our laying operations in Stockholm. At Svevia, we combine the community and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist - with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.

Your mission as a paving worker

After several successful seasons, we are now aiming to expand further in Stockholm and are starting a new machine team in April 2025, and we are now looking for you who want to be part of the team.

Are you already working in a close-knit team? No problem, apply and bring your entire work team with you!

The team is led by Operations Manager Dan Sjöman and Project Managers Philip Öberg and David Wigren. Philip and David have both advanced internally from paving workers to leaders and managers in the road sector. We value ambition and often recruit internally.

As a paving worker, you will participate in various assignments for municipalities, the Swedish Transport Administration, private clients, and others within Svevia. The tasks vary and provide development opportunities. The work is seasonal, mainly from April to December, sometimes evenings and nights. The operations are based in Täby or Södertälje, and there is flexibility regarding which location the team operates from.

Who are you?

As we are starting a new machine team, we need to recruit for all positions in the team. We are looking for you with skills for one of the roles of paver operator, roller driver, and screed operator.

  • We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience in paving work.
  • We view positively if you have tried most roles in a paving team.
  • A driving license B is a requirement.
  • A driving license BE is a requirement.
  • Some computer skills are an advantage.

To succeed in the role of paving worker, you need to be a team player who shows respect, supports, and cares about your colleagues. We see the work team as central to achieving success and delivering results, which is why your ability to collaborate is extremely important. You have the customer's wishes in focus and work methodically to ensure that our product maintains high and consistent quality. You simply enjoy delivering world-class results!

At Svevia, safety is a top priority. We aim to have the safest workplaces in the industry and the safest traffic environments. This means you need to follow the statutory requirements, regulations, and safety guidelines that come with the role. Additionally, you arrive on time and keep your promises.

At Svevia, we apply individual salary setting for skilled workers and have agreements on annual working hours. This means you primarily work during our season from April to December and are off during January to March, provided you have reached your annual working hours during the season. We offer a wellness allowance of 5000 SEK per year. We are happy to tell you more about this in an interview.

Part of something bigger

Svevia's industrial division is in an expansive phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in paving in Sweden.

Behind every road lies more than the obvious surface: a whole industry of knowledge and delivery capability. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.

It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes ballast, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own quarries, our own production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastics, we have a breadth that no one else has. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses and ensure that the products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, asphalting, tank coating, and road marking ensure that the delivery is complete.

Why Svevia?

With us, you quickly become part of the group, and we care about being a workplace for everyone. The decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your professional skills, you can make a difference on the road. And we always put safety first - both with care for your own work environment and the safety of others.

For those who want to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your specific area or move on to a leadership position.

Together, we make cities and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?

Application and information

You can easily apply by sending in your CV and answering a few selection questions. Our recruitment process is based on a competency-based approach, which is a prerequisite for recruiting quality, inclusively and without prejudice. Therefore, we do not want a personal letter.
