We are looking for a Support Educator
We are looking for a support educator who works based on: commitment, innovation, and the equal value of all, and who wants to contribute to driving a qualitative care work for our service users within LSS.
Your mission
As a support educator, you have a statutory and professional responsibility for the established support services according to LSS (the Act concerning Support and Service). You are part of a team of support workers, support assistants, and care educators.
In your role as a support educator, you perform the same tasks as support workers and support assistants. In addition to this, you are also responsible for ensuring that documentation, guidelines, and educational methods are followed. You provide support and service based on the service user's needs and wishes, as well as based on an individual implementation plan.
The support services are based on the service user's individual needs to promote abilities, integrity, participation, and self-determination. A workday may include providing support and assistance with meals, activities, household chores, shopping, laundry, and other tasks that the person you support needs help with. It also includes the maintenance of the unit's premises.
In addition, you are responsible for maintaining a close and good collaboration with relatives, trustees/guardians, and other professionals in health and medical care.
Working hours are irregular, including day, evening, on-call, night, and weekend shifts.
Other tasks include:
- Quality assurance of operations based on the service users' support needs
- Guidance in methods and strategies within the work team
Your experience
- Trained support educator or equivalent pedagogical education, for example, post-secondary education of 200 credits or 60 HP in the field of disabilities/behavioral sciences.
- Experience in establishing and following up on implementation plans and other social documentation.
- Experience in implementing educational methods and work practices.
- Good knowledge of supportive pedagogy and educational methods.
- Proficient in the Swedish language, both verbally and in writing, and have good computer skills.
- Previous experience of actively working as a support educator within LSS or other experience deemed equivalent by the employer.

About the workplace
In the LSS residence, 17 service users live on five floors. The service users live with disabilities/neuropsychiatric disabilities, mental health issues, and autism. Outwardly aggressive behavior may occur. The staff work with close care as well as simple support in the service users' daily lives.
