The psychiatric emergency department in Lund consists of over 30 employees, all collaborating to provide the best care and quality to our patients. The emergency department is open 24/7 and is responsible for urgent psychiatric assessments as well as telephone advice to patients, relatives, healthcare partners, and authorities. Our catchment area consists of the residents of central Skåne.

The department also includes the brain stimulation team, which is responsible for the catchment area's electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Working with ECT is not mandatory, but there is an opportunity if interested.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a nurse who is interested in working days, evenings, and weekends in our emergency department in Lund!

In the role of a nurse, the main responsibilities include making assessments and decisions about the patient's care needs. As support in your decisions, you have the triage system RETTS and the triage handbook, as well as the opportunity to consult with other nurses and doctors. The responsibilities also include telephone advice, psychiatric and somatic care, as well as urgent medical interventions. You will also collaborate closely with healthcare partners and authorities such as the police, correctional services, and social services.

The work requires the ability to switch from a fast-paced environment to a more calm pace and vice versa. The tasks are often varied and exciting as you uniquely encounter the full spectrum of mental illness in different phases. You will become an expert in patient interaction and will have time for each patient. There are also opportunities to take on different areas of responsibility and have roles such as fire and safety representative, environmental representative, influence representative, ethics representative, or children's representative.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. If you are also a specialist nurse in psychiatry and/or have experience working with patients with mental health issues in psychiatry, this is considered an advantage. We also welcome those who are new to the profession and have an interest in psychiatric care.

You are secure, resilient, structured, and meticulous in your work, and have an empathetic approach towards our patients.
