Who will you be working with?

Ebba is 15 years old, has a rare condition called Rett Syndrome, and lives with her parents and younger sister in Lindome, not far from Lindome station, fifteen minutes by train from Gothenburg.

Ebba enjoys being with people who are creative, proactive, and like to come up with activities. She loves music, horseback riding, and swimming. As her assistant, you will work with Ebba to train communication using an eye-controlled computer, implement training programs from a physiotherapist, and assist her with other basic needs. Ebba has mild epilepsy, needs help with feeding, and receives medication through a PEG tube. You will also be Ebba's opportunity for interaction with others in her environment and her support in outward communication.

Position Details

Ebba is looking for someone who can work approximately 40% (15h/week) on a rotating schedule, afternoons/evenings on certain weekdays, every other weekend, and extra hours during school breaks. Some nights will also involve staying overnight with Ebba. The position is a one-year substitute starting in early February 2025.

Who are we looking for? What is important for you to thrive in the role as Ebba's assistant is primarily the right personal chemistry between you, Ebba, and the family. Both Ebba and her family value personal maturity in you as an assistant, that you are simply calm and confident in yourself, that you are independent and proactive, have a great empathetic ability, and know when to take the lead and when to step back.

Ebba prefers female assistants.

• Driver's license and car are advantageous but not required
• You need to be able to speak and understand Swedish.
