Specialist in General Medicine - Skoghall Medical Center

Skoghall Medical Center is now looking for a dedicated and experienced specialist in general medicine to strengthen our supervision team.

As we face an exciting healthcare reform, we are seeking someone who wants to contribute to educating and guiding future specialists in general medicine, while also having the opportunity to participate in clinical work. Your workplace

Skoghall Medical Center is the third largest medical center in Värmland with approximately 17,000 listed patients and close to 60 employees. Our workplace is located in the archipelago municipality of Hammarö, just a few minutes' walk to Lake Vänern and Lillängshamnen.

At the medical center, there is a well-functioning counseling reception with counselors and psychologists. We have a fully staffed nursing team with district nurses, psychiatric nurses, and nurses with special expertise in conditions such as heart failure, asthma-COPD, dementia, and diabetes. We also have podiatrists, nursing assistants, and healthcare administrators who work both independently and together with the rest of the team. We have a close collaboration with Hammarö municipality and a secure home care team with doctors focusing on the municipality's most fragile elderly population. We also have pharmacists who assist with medication reviews before visits. The medical team consists of a total of 7 general practitioners and 4 resident doctors. Additionally, we have recruited several doctors from other countries.

The transition is important to meet the residents' needs for care and support in a timely and appropriate manner. We are living longer and healthier lives, leading to a changing demographic: a larger proportion of older individuals compared to working-age individuals. To achieve our ambitions, we must ensure that the future medical staffing at our medical centers is sufficient. There is a great interest in working with us as an educational doctor. Therefore, we are looking for someone who wants to help supervise future specialists in general medicine.

Your responsibilities

Your mission is to supervise and educate the educational doctor in their professional role, providing knowledge, skills, professional identity, and introducing general medicine as the natural choice of specialty.

Your mission will mainly consist of supervising junior doctors and educational doctors in what is known as a 'fork reception.' Together with supervisors and unit managers, a suitable structure for reception work will be developed. The position can be combined with clinical work.

Your skills and competencies

We are looking for a licensed doctor and specialist in general medicine. You have training as a supervisor and experience in supervising medical students, junior doctors, and resident doctors.

As a person, you are confident, clear, and structured. You are relationship-oriented and skilled at maintaining your relationships.
