Unit Manager for Operational Support in Health and Care

The Role of Unit Manager for Operational Support

The unit consists of HR specialists, economists, business developers, development leaders for premises and properties, council secretaries, and registrars. As a unit manager, you will play a central role in leading and developing the unit into operational support characterized by responsibility and independence. This includes ensuring an approach where employees have the opportunity to own their processes and work towards and support the activities in the administration.

The operational support means that the unit supports other unit managers and ensures a holistic view of changes and needs within the organization. You will be responsible for overall administrative processes and administration-wide annual cycles, as well as ensuring and quality-assuring the political annual cycle.

You also support and coach managers in quality and target management, lead processes for interim and annual reporting, and coordinate target management and internal control.

You analyze results and develop ways of working to integrate management processes with political guidelines. You have a leading role in the quality management system, environmental monitoring, and user surveys. In this role, you work operationally on behalf of the operations manager, prepare decision-making material, and present it to the council.

Your contact areas range from workgroups to administration level, and you often collaborate in teams with other specialists and support functions.

About You

You have previously had full personnel responsibility and are used to leading in organizations undergoing constant change. You see yourself as a change leader with personnel responsibility rather than a traditional unit manager. As a confident leader, you drive development issues and understand the importance of being a good role model. You create motivation, engagement, and participation, clarify and follow up on goals and expectations. Your leadership inspires innovation and development, giving others the opportunity to take responsibility and be involved in decisions. In this role, you have many contact areas and need to be social, attentive, and have good collaboration skills.

We believe you have experience working in a politically governed organization where you have demonstrated your ability to navigate and lead in a dynamic environment. You have analytical skills, are meticulous, structured, and used to generating accurate and quality-assured reports.

We are looking for someone who has:

work experience from a similar organization related to health and care
work experience in driving strategic and organizational development
work experience in leading and driving change
work experience as a manager with full personnel responsibility
work experience in council administration
work experience in information management and administrative processes

It is advantageous if you have:

work experience in leading in a politically governed organization and/or public sector
work experience in working with quality management systems
work experience in environmental monitoring
work experience in user and/or employee surveys and related follow-up work
