Yrkesgymnasiet Umeå is primarily looking for a licensed vocational teacher in hairdressing subjects, but we also welcome applicants with at least five years of work experience in the hairdressing industry.

With us, students learn a profession from the ground up in real workplaces with experienced mentors. In this position, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge with the hairdressers of the future. More than half of the students' education time takes place in a workplace, providing them with a solid foundation and an advantage in the job market. Our students are prepared in the best possible way for their future careers with the support of their mentors and engaged educators.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a licensed teacher in hairdressing subjects or has at least five years of experience in the hairdressing industry and a strong drive to teach and mentor students.
• Is an excellent communicator and team player who can act as a bridge between school, students, and the business community.
• Has a B driver's license and preferably access to a personal vehicle.
• Has the ability to work independently while being team-oriented and collaborating with colleagues to best prepare students for their future careers.

Qualifications

A teaching degree or substantial experience in the hairdressing industry and a desire to inspire and develop the next generation of hairdressers. A teaching license and pedagogical experience are desirable but not required.
