JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Skårsskolan is a K-6 school with approximately 440 students and about 60 staff members. The school is centrally located with great access to nature and good bus connections. We work to promote, maintain, and develop all students' natural desire to learn for life. Cooperative work permeates all our activities.

We are now looking for a lead teacher who will lead the development of teaching together with colleagues at the school, but also with other lead teachers in the school area.

In the role of lead teacher, you will primarily be involved in teaching. In addition, you will work on school development tasks identified in the systematic quality work. The core of the systematic quality work is the students' learning and goal fulfillment; the work as a lead teacher is primarily focused on leading the work to develop teaching to increase students' learning together with other lead teachers at the school.

Based on the areas identified in the school's systematic quality work, you will work together with the school's teachers and management team. In a collegial learning environment, you have a central and important role by mentoring and coaching, as well as contributing knowledge about research and proven experience.

One task of the lead teacher is to mentor teacher students and provide guidance for newly graduated teachers, aiming to contribute to a good introduction to the teaching profession. A more detailed assignment will be formulated in consultation between the lead teacher and the principal at the school. This will include conditions and content of the assignment, as well as the timing for review and possible revision.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be qualified for the position, you must be a certified teacher for grades 4-6 and have qualifications in Swedish and English. You have at least four years of documented and rated experience.

The person we are looking for should also have:

• demonstrated a particularly good ability to improve students' academic results and have a strong interest in developing teaching.
• be assessed by the employer as particularly qualified for teaching and tasks related to teaching.
• be able to document at least four years of well-rated work within the school system.
• have a good ability to drive school development based on the school's systematic quality work.
• have developed analytical skills.
• have the ability to be a driving force in a collaborative culture.
• have a good ability to lead others in collegial learning at both local and overarching levels.
• in addition to qualifications in Swedish and English, it is advantageous if you have broad subject qualifications.

For you to succeed in your assignment, it is important that you have a good ability to create conditions for learning to occur, both for students and for colleagues. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives. You stay updated through environmental monitoring and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your work. You can effectively identify and analyze the core of a problem and suggest possible solutions. You have a scientific approach and seek and seize opportunities to think innovatively in work-related contexts, which can be implemented in practice and lead to improvements.
