The administration is responsible for education from preschool to adult education and runs a unique house for youth's active leisure.

In Skara, there are 11 municipal preschools, and we are now looking for licensed preschool teachers for the preschools Lindängen, Millan, and Kastanjen.

Preschool Lindängen is located in Varnhem, about 13 km from central Skara. Lindängen is the preschool in the beautiful cultural landscape of Vallebygd, close to the historic monastery church and Hornborgasjön. We work with language development, and nature and the environment are part of our daily work.

Millan is the preschool with the flexibility of a small unit. Preschool Millan is located in Eggby, 14 km outside central Skara. Nature is very close and is a significant asset in the educational activities throughout the year. Here, you will be part of a small team where there is great freedom to drive development work.

Preschool Kastanjen is located in central Ardala, about 7 km south of Skara, where nature is also close and constitutes an asset in the educational activities.

The work involves

Learning and care in mutuality requires both subject knowledge, didactic skills, and the ability to relate to children in a thoughtful way in dialogue.

As a preschool teacher in Skara municipality, you will work to:

• Lead and be responsible for the operations in a way that allows children to develop as far as possible towards the goals and guidelines of the curriculum – with a holistic perspective and the child's learning in focus.
• Challenge children's curiosity, interest, and desire to learn.
• Plan, implement, evaluate, develop, and document the operations based on existing governing documents.
• Follow research and work based on proven experience and scientific foundations.

We have the support of a special educator and development leader who takes our systematic quality work even further.

Qualifications

• Licensed preschool teacher or teacher licensed for preschool.
• Good ability to plan, organize, and follow up on the educational work, as well as being able to take initiative and start processes both in teams and operations.
• Good ability to create respectful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to capture children's initiatives and create participation.
• Be a person who can lead both among children and colleagues and have the ability to take different perspectives.

Other information and benefits

The position at preschool Lindängen is permanent full-time with a start date of 2025-08-01 or by agreement.

The position at preschool Millan will be filled if necessary decisions are made and is permanent full-time with a start date of 2025-08-01 or by agreement.
