Infrastructure Architect at the Swedish Forest Agency

Do you want to help create solutions that contribute to a balanced preservation and utilization of Sweden's most important natural resource – the forest? We are now looking for an infrastructure architect for the IT unit who can contribute to the agency's architecture and translate the needs of the organization into sustainable, modern technical solutions.

Your future workplace

The IT environment at the Swedish Forest Agency includes world-leading image analysis, AI models for detecting forest damage, custom-built web-based IT systems, data warehouses, and purchased standard systems. The IT environment needs to function in geographically dispersed areas while being technically centralized.

The IT unit at the Swedish Forest Agency has a well-established collaboration with the Unit for Business Development and the Geodata Unit, where common issues are driven to strengthen the agency's architecture and architectural governance.

About the IT unit

The unit consists of over 40 colleagues divided into a couple of operations teams, a support team, a couple of development teams, and several resource consultants.

The IT unit - primarily located at the headquarters in Jönköping - serves not only the headquarters but also about 80 local offices across the country, providing everything from development, management, operations, and support.

Our development teams work agilely in close collaboration with the business and also closely with operations and support.

Your responsibilities include

Being an important piece of the architecture team that works based on IASA's role descriptions. In addition to your work with the Swedish Forest Agency's overall architecture and visualization of the architecture, you will work together with your colleagues in operations to ensure that the infrastructure aligns with the organization's needs for application support, network communication, data storage, and security. You will enter an exciting phase as the infrastructure at the Swedish Forest Agency is currently reviewing its existing data center solution with the help of reinforcement from an external partner.

In your role as an infrastructure architect, you are expected to work actively across the entire Swedish Forest Agency to capture technical needs in the organization. You actively support development initiatives regarding infrastructure and thereby contribute to the target architecture that you work on together with other architects.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in computer science or other education and experience that we consider equivalent.

You need to have a good understanding of the IT infrastructure area as a whole and be able to collaborate with people in other roles within the organization. You can move between different architectural perspectives and levels of detail in collaboration with architects in other roles.

To thrive in this role, you have the ability to structure, document, and analyze IT systems, tools, and components and their capabilities, techniques, and information in models.

It is advantageous if you have certification or equivalent experience in IT architecture or experience in public work. Additionally, experience with geographic information (GIS) is a plus.

The work requires that you are curious, analytical, and problem-solving from a holistic perspective. You find it easy to collaborate with others but are also independent, driven, and meticulous. You have a pedagogical approach and can include other employees. You thrive in an environment characterized by innovation and creativity. Furthermore, you are communicative and enjoy giving presentations and facilitating meetings and workshops.
