Your Role

Saab Training & Simulation is currently in an expansive phase and we are looking for more skilled engineers who want to work with our advanced training equipment! This is a position for you who thrive in a developing environment and are attracted to working with the latest technology and complex systems!

You will be part of a close-knit team within the Embedded Software department, consisting of 80 employees - from junior to senior developers, testers, and architects. We develop new features and improve existing systems. The team focuses on implementing features in C/C++, systematizing, troubleshooting, and verifying systems.

You will also work with software testing, both manually and through automated test cases in Python. The work is cross-functional with electronics and software developers, testers, application engineers, and team leaders. In addition to working on the development of our systems, we expect you to also want to contribute to improving our working methods at Saab Training & Simulation.

Your Profile

We are looking for a technology-interested person with a strong desire to develop and a good pedagogical ability to convey knowledge. You are open and honest in your collaboration with both colleagues and customers and respect decisions made. With great engagement, you take responsibility for your tasks and work proactively to find solutions. Furthermore, you enjoy collaborating with others to achieve goals and actively seek information within the organization to drive work forward.

To thrive and succeed in this role, you have:

• A degree in computer science/electronics
• Several years of experience as a developer, at least 3 years
• Experience with C/C++
• Experience with Python
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• The ability to troubleshoot and test at both hardware and software levels
• Understanding of software-driven hardware requirements

It is a plus if you have:

• Experience with GIT and DevOps
• Knowledge of radio communication
• Experience with Yocto and Buildroot
• The ability to make your own measurements and simpler troubleshooting at the circuit level with measuring instruments
• Design and program automated tests
• Knowledge of Linux and software applications in Linux-based systems

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
