What will you do

As a project manager, you will lead a team of system engineers in defining solutions, documenting requirements (functions and non-functions), and following up on system verification to secure high-quality products. You will work in close cooperation with a variety of stakeholders and solution providers, both within the Electromobility department and across the Volvo Group.

Responsibilities

You will belong to a team with the responsibility to develop Electromobility system solutions, including both hardware and software, for all Volvo Group applications worldwide. It is important to understand the different stakeholders, to balance requirements and support the building of a platform system that can be utilized by several applications. As a project manager, you will be responsible for activities and deliveries following the agreed project scope and overall project time plan, as well as Volvo’s product development process.

Who are you?

As a person, you are open and positive and enjoy leading complex technology projects. You should have a can-do attitude, demonstrated technical leadership, and be able to create a productive and prosperous team. You communicate easily and effectively, no matter the team size or positions of your recipients. You can create an environment of trust and openness, building an engaged and empowered team.

You have experience from leading large and complex technical projects, have an interest in new technologies, and can thrive in the ever-changing environment the development of these exists in. It requires you to be able to be self-driven, able to create and develop structures and documentation where there are gaps, as well as a good listener with the ability to adjust when changes happen. As part of a cross-functional and international environment, English is your natural language in written and spoken communication. You need to be able to utilize digital tools in your daily work, as the project team is generally a global one.

In addition, you have:

  • At least ten years of experience in product development within the automotive industry, including extensive work with system design of mechatronic systems.
  • Minimum four years of experience as a project manager.
  • Minimum four years of experience working with the development of electric propulsion driveline.
  • Proven leadership ability to guide complex cross-functional technical activities.
  • Experience of working with requirements, functions and non-functions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, demonstrating a growth mindset and a solution-oriented approach.
  • M.Sc. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Meritorious

  • Microsoft Project and PTM skills.
  • Competencies within Volvo processes and tools, particularly the product development process.
  • Requirement breakdown and verification experience.
  • PMP certification.
