Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is in both Swedish and English, and the hallways are bilingual. The language of meetings and communication amongst the staff is English.

IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.

IES Uppsala is a school for grades 4-9 with approx. 750 students and a staff body of about 75 members. The school is situated in the southern part of Uppsala, and Uppsala is only 30 minutes away from the Swedish national airport Arlanda.

We are looking for a qualified Art teacher with international or Swedish teaching credentials to start in August 2025. The position is full-time and for a fixed term - until 9th January 2026, teaching grades 7-9, following the Swedish National Curriculum. Lessons can be taught in either English or Swedish. As a teacher at IES Uppsala you are also a mentor to a class together with a colleague.

We are looking for someone who plans creative, engaging lessons and who fosters a love for learning. You are a dedicated and loyal teacher that believes in guiding each student to reach their true potential. We prioritise building relationships with students and commitment to mentorship duties. Required competencies and desired qualifications/experiences:

• We require lärarlegitimation or international teaching qualifications
• A natural leader in the classroom, able to create a calm learning environment
• Enthusiastic, committed, team-player that is willing to go the extra mile for students and colleagues.
• Fluency in either English or Swedish
