About Grödinge Parish

Grödinge Parish in the Diocese of Strängnäs is located about thirty kilometers southwest of Stockholm and belongs to Botkyrka Municipality.

About 4500 residents live here, with approximately 3300 being members of the Church of Sweden. The area features primary schools, preschools, a small center with a library, an active local heritage association, a meeting place for the elderly, and a care and nursing home, among other facilities. The parish encompasses eleven nature reserves and a lot of countryside with beautiful nature surrounded by the Baltic Sea. The beautiful medieval Grödinge Church is located about 5 km south of the Church House in Vårsta. A car is required for easy access to the church. There is also a smaller service residence adjacent to the church.

Our Assistant Pastor is retiring!

Grödinge Parish is seeking a priest who, in addition to worship services and church activities, will also have theological responsibility for our confirmation, children's, and youth work. We would like you to have experience working with children and youth and have ideas on how to conduct good children's and youth work. Grödinge Parish is looking for an assistant pastor who wants to be part of youth work and be involved in the entire parish life. Here, there is willingness, creativity, and short decision-making paths. We share our lives and our resources.

The parish's activities are mainly located at the Church House in Vårsta center. Worship services are held either in the Church House or in Grödinge Church. Our church activities take place in Grödinge Church. You will work approximately every other weekend, and on weekends, you will work alongside musicians and also with the youth/young adults who serve as church caretakers.

Requirements for the position:

• Ordained in the Church of Sweden and willing to collaborate with other priests regardless of gender
• Driver's license and car

Employment form and start date:

The position is a full-time position (100%)
Start date October 1 or by agreement, no later than January 12.
There is an option for a smaller service residence.

Interviews for suitable candidates will be conducted at Grödinge Parish on an ongoing basis and then at the Diocesan Chapter in Strängnäs Diocese. The interview with the Diocesan Chapter in Strängnäs Diocese will take place on April 28, and the appointment will occur after the qualification declaration by the Diocesan Chapter on May 15, 2025.
