Botkyrka Municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County and consists of the districts of Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka Municipality has approximately 95,000 inhabitants and over 6,400 employees.

The Social Administration provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for authority exercise, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and relatives. The Social Administration has a special responsibility for children, young people, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are about 500 employees who, with strength-based working methods, provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equal, fair, and safe manner.

The Position and Responsibilities

The Child and Youth Investigation Unit 4 is one of four units that work to investigate the need for protection and support for children aged 0-18 years.

Our unit consists of investigative social workers, social workers focusing on youth at risk of criminality, SIG coordinators, and a child protection team with safety planning according to Signs of Safety. The unit also has an administrator and case support and is led by a unit manager and three operational team leaders. The unit's goal is to maintain high quality and a legally secure handling for the municipality's children. Our workplace is located at Hans Stahles väg 5 in Tumba.

We particularly focus on developing network work with our families and also use other assessment instruments such as SAVRY, ADAD, EARL, MI.

We are currently seeking a social worker with authority exercise responsibilities for the child protection team, which involves creating safety plans together with family therapists. The goal is to improve the quality of case handling and ensure that more children have their needs met at home.

Responsibilities

You will work with safety planning based on the Signs of Safety approach. You will handle cases with high concern for the child and where social services consider placing the child outside the home. The work is done in close collaboration with the child, the family, and the rest of the network, where a plan is developed together to ensure the child's protection at home.

  • Conversations with children and parents about their experiences of their situation and investigating existing resources and capabilities
  • Collaborate with the family's private and professional network to work together in the child's best interest
  • Systematically and continuously document in the operational system Lifecare
  • Cooperate with, among others, the municipality's outpatient care, external care providers, and other actors such as the region, police, and schools.

Who We Are Looking For

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work.
  • Several years of experience in case handling and documentation of authority exercise for children and youth.
  • Ability to make assessments and decisions in complex situations.

Meritorious:

  • Experience with placement cases
  • Leading network meetings
  • Driver's license (B).
  • Training in Lifecare.
  • Knowledge of safety planning and experience with Signs of Safety.

You have a strong ability to be flexible and are open to others' perspectives, but you are also confident in your professional role. It is an advantage if you are also creative and can find ideas and new approaches to work-related issues.
