Botkyrka Municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County and consists of the districts of Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka Municipality has approximately 95,000 inhabitants and over 6,400 employees.

The Social Administration provides support to the residents of Botkyrka and is responsible for authority exercise, primarily according to the Social Services Act. The support is for both individuals and their relatives. The Social Administration has a special responsibility for children, young people, and adults in need of support according to social legislation. We are about 500 employees who provide support to the residents of Botkyrka in an equitable, fair, and safe manner using strength-based approaches.

The Position and Responsibilities

Your main task is to, together with a colleague, be responsible for youth service.

As a practitioner in youth service, this means meeting clients who have received youth service as a consequence and live in Botkyrka. The social services are tasked with supporting young people in the municipality who have been sentenced to youth service, which occurs through conversations with practitioners and practical work. The practical work takes place in collaboration with various workplaces where the youth service is performed.

As a practitioner in youth service, you are responsible for meeting the target group aged 15-20 who have been sentenced to youth service. The practitioner is responsible for initiating the youth service, having conversations with the client based on the severity of the offense, arranging a practical placement where the remaining hours not involving conversations with the client are scheduled, and conducting a closing meeting. The practitioner is also responsible for documenting and reporting misconduct or other circumstances that prevent the youth service from continuing. The position also includes recruiting and visiting practical placements.

In Botkyrka, we have established close cooperation with various workplaces in Stockholm County that provide practical placements for young people who are to perform their youth service.

You will be part of a unit that collectively has high competence and extensive experience in social work. We offer external supervision and focus on skill enhancement through internal training in Signs of Safety and Motivational Interviewing (MI). To support a healthy work environment, we also promote wellness. Your working hours are calculated on an annual basis to ensure a balanced workload. There is also the possibility of some remote work.

You Who Are Applying to Us

Requirements:
You are a social worker, behavioral scientist, or have another academic education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with children, young people, and their families, where you base your work on the child perspective and applicable legislation. You have previous experience working within social services. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, to effectively collaborate with various parties, such as workplaces, practical placements, social workers, and courts.

Meritorious:
Previous experience working with young people, especially within youth service or youth care. Motivational Interviewing (MI) and experience with SOSFS. To succeed in the role, you need to have a good ability to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and both private and professional networks. We see that you have a humble and respectful approach, are clear, communicative, self-assured, and have an easy time understanding problems and issues. You are interested in new methods, working methods, and how these can contribute to development.

The position is a parental leave substitute for six months with a great possibility of extension!
