The Culture and Leisure Administration creates opportunities for the municipality's visitors and residents to experience and participate in a diverse leisure and cultural life.

The general culture and leisure activities are responsible for issues within the general culture and leisure area such as outdoor life, activity places, bathing places, camping, destination development, and events. The unit is now looking for a destination developer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a destination developer, you will lead the work of developing long-term goals and strategies within the cultural and geographical tourism perspective in Mjölby Municipality. You will be responsible for initiating, coordinating, and developing events and activities that strengthen Mjölby Municipality's identity and attractiveness for both visitors and the local community. Your tasks include following up and evaluating completed activities, as well as measuring their impact and effectiveness to optimize future investments.

In your daily work, you will build and maintain relationships with the local business community and external stakeholders to create common goals and synergies. Together with the communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies within your area. You will actively work to develop sustainable and inclusive tourism and cultural activities that align with both local and global sustainability goals. Your responsibilities also include following up and ensuring that tourist information in the municipality is current, accessible, and informative for both visitors and residents, as well as updating the municipality's event page visitmjolby.se.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a post-secondary education, for example in tourism, marketing, communication, or another education that the employer considers equivalent. It is required that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form and hold a B driver's license. Other language skills are considered an asset.

Previous experience in tourism, marketing, or communication is advantageous. Knowledge of digital marketing and social media is also a plus. Experience working in a public organization is also considered an asset.

As a person, you have the ability to create and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally. You collaborate well with people in various contexts and functions. You are creative and innovative, generating new ideas and easily finding new perspectives and solutions to problems.

You seek opportunities for organizational improvement and take the initiative for change through, among other things, environmental monitoring. Furthermore, you have the ability to plan and organize your work. You find it easy to set goals, organize resources, follow up, and complete activities.
