Welcome to Östergötland Museum - a vibrant and versatile organization that not only manages and displays art and cultural history but also invites visitors to guided tours, cultural events, workshops, museum shops, restaurants, conferences, as well as study circles and networks. We also have business operations in archaeology, conservation, and building preservation. About the Position
Östergötland Museum is responsible for a unique and multifaceted collection that spans from the Ice Age to the present day. Here you will find everything from cultural treasures at Löfstad Castle to medical and computer history, art and archaeology, photography, and cultural history. The unit also includes a comprehensive archive, library, diary, and publishing.
Östergötland Museum is entering a new organizational and management structure, and we are now seeking an engaged and forward-looking manager for the Collections unit who wants to lead the work of continuing to preserve, make accessible, and develop our valuable collections.

As the unit manager, you will:

- Work operationally with collections management, where you have a clear operational responsibility for your specialist competence.
- Continue to develop the unit's work with digitization and accessibility of the collections.
- Work to make Östergötland Museum's rich collections accessible and relevant for all.
- Build and maintain good relationships with external partners both regionally and internationally.
You will be part of the museum's management team and report directly to museum management.
It is important that you enjoy both the managerial and operational work within the unit. Leading a team requires the ability to motivate and support employees while maintaining a focus on the organization's goals and results.
Qualifications
You have:
- A university degree or equivalent in a relevant academic field.
- Previous experience working with collections.
- A valid driver's license (B).
We would like you to have:
- Well-regarded leadership experience.
- The ability to lead and develop staff, as well as an interest in knowledge and development work related to collections.
As a person, you see what needs to be done and ensure it gets done. You shift seamlessly between operational and strategic work as needed, build secure and strong relationships around you, and communicate clearly. You strive for continuous improvement and find development stimulating.
Your personal qualities are crucial to our success. You are results-oriented, a good communicator, and have an analytical and structured approach. You have a strong interest in collections management and the potential of digitization, and can articulate needs and act to meet them.
