Who are we?

Scenkonst Öst creates performing arts with both breadth and depth, and the organization is for everyone in Östergötland. Scenkonst Öst AB was founded in 2016 and consists of the artistic operations of Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Östgötamusiken, and Östgötateatern with Ung Scen Öst. The organization also includes operational support with departments for communication, HR, IT, finance, and property. The core values of courage, respect, and participation represent the company's common foundation and approach. The organization has approximately 230 employees and as many or more on fixed-term contracts. The annual turnover is about 200 million SEK, and the owners are Region Östergötland, Norrköping Municipality, and Linköping Municipality.

Östgötamusiken has a regional mission to provide everyone in Östergötland access to high-quality live music at a professional level and to operate broadly across several genres. Östgötamusiken has a strong grassroots connection throughout Östergötland and actively seeks new challenges in collaboration with freelance artists, conductors, soloists, and ensembles. Hundreds of concerts are held each year in the region. We have 17 full-time musicians working in Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker and in the ensembles Östgöta Brass Quintet, Crusell Quintet, and Östgötabandet.

Job Responsibilities

As a horn player at Östgötamusiken, you will have a full-time musician position, which means you will participate in the rehearsals, preparations, and concerts of the Crusell Quintet and Östgöta Blåsarsymfoniker. As a horn player at Östgötamusiken, you will also be involved in the planning and creation of productions for the Crusell Quintet and perform for children, youth, and seniors, where we place certain demands on the appropriateness of communication with the audience.

Your Profile

We are looking for a professional musician with a university education and experience in orchestra/ensemble playing at a high professional level. You are passionate about your instrument and have some experience with cross-genre projects. Since a large part of the position consists of chamber music productions for children/youth and seniors, with a need to communicate with the audience in Swedish, proficiency in Swedish is required. Experience in chamber music is an advantage.

Additional Information:

Auditions will take place by invitation on May 8 at Östgötamusiken's premises in Linköping. A pianist will be available.

Required Works: W.A. Mozart Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat major KV 495, movement 1 without cadenza. Richard Strauss Horn Concerto No. 1 Op. 11, movement 1.
