Boxholm Municipality has about 5,500 inhabitants. Much of what is important is conveniently located for the residents of Boxholm. How about just a few minutes' walk from the center to shops, schools, preschools, a swimming hall, and a commuter train station? The wonderful nature is also right around the corner. With the commuter train, you can reach the urban offerings in Linköping in just 30 minutes.

We are looking for someone who wants to help build and manage the school library operations in the municipality's two primary schools with a total of approximately 600 students.

Our goal is for the school libraries to be an integrated part of the school's work to increase students' goal fulfillment, with a clear pedagogical function whose main task is to contribute to strengthening students' language skills and digital competence, as well as creating a school library for everyone.

About the role

The school library should be a welcoming and inclusive learning environment where students can find inspiration but also receive help and support. As a school librarian, you will work closely with principals, teachers, and other educational staff to strengthen students' reading and communication skills and otherwise contribute to students' learning and interest in reading. In your role, you will help build students' digital competence with a focus on information skills such as search competence, source criticism, and source reliability.

The administrative tasks include managing the lending and return of books and the routines surrounding this, as well as planning purchases based on the school's needs and priorities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in library and information science.

You have good knowledge of the Swedish language. You are proactive and have the ability to plan and organize your work. You find it important to create and maintain good relationships, both within the school, with students and colleagues, as well as externally in various networks. We would also like you to have experience in promoting reading and teaching information management. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of the library data system Book It.

Since travel is included in the position, a B driver's license is required.
