Description

The position is located in the secretariat unit, which is part of the municipal executive board's administration and has the overarching task of supporting the municipal executive board and implementing and following up on the board's decisions.

In the secretariat unit, there are lawyers, municipal secretaries, registrars, archivists, and archive assistants, information security coordinators, as well as office services with office managers and office caretakers. The immediate supervisor is the head of the secretariat.

Job Responsibilities

As a Business Controller, you will be an important piece in the strategic and practical work as the municipality continues to develop. Primarily, you will support the municipal executive board in planning, monitoring, and analyzing operations. You will work closely with the heads of departments and elected representatives of the board. Your assignments will vary in complexity and scope. This may involve responding to referrals and motions, conducting in-depth investigations, internal control, monitoring and evaluating the municipal executive board's goals and decisions, developing strategies to enhance our operations, and leading/participating in cross-municipal projects. You will lead the cross-municipal network for planning and follow-up.

It is important for us to work as a team in the unit and assist with tasks as needed.

Qualifications

You should have a relevant university degree. You have worked in the municipal sector and have an understanding of how a politically governed organization functions.

Since the secretariat unit prepares matters decided by the municipal executive board and the municipal council, you must quickly be able to familiarize yourself with new issues. We are looking for someone who is structured, has problem-solving skills, and a high language proficiency. By structured, we mean that you can plan and organize your work efficiently and meet deadlines. You should have the ability to analyze and break down complex issues and propose solutions.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. It is important to have your own drive in your work, take initiative, and take significant personal responsibility. You should be able to present essential facts, analyze connections, and prepare materials for decision-making. It is required that you have a good ability to express yourself well both verbally and in writing in the Swedish language.

Conditions

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security screening with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in the security class, Swedish citizenship is required. This position may be subject to military placement in the municipality's military organization, which means that the municipality ensures the position during heightened preparedness. An extract from the criminal record will be requested prior to employment.

Other Information

Due to the law on criminal records, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment within LSS, childcare, and schools.
