We are now looking for two postdoctoral researchers for two-year postdoctoral studies at the Academy of Health and Welfare.
Academy of Health and Welfare
The University consists of four interdisciplinary academies, and the current position is located at the Academy of Health and Welfare (HOV). Your future colleagues are innovative community actors for health and welfare. The Academy has approximately 120 employees and consists of three departments: the Department of Society and Welfare, the Department of Health and Nursing, and the Department of Health and Sports. HOV offers education at both undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as doctoral education in the field of health and lifestyle. The research within the Academy is multidisciplinary with the goal of being value-creating and contributing to a good life in an equal and sustainable society.

Job Responsibilities
The research in the position is closely linked to the research program Information-driven care and the research group Healthcare improvement research group. The responsibilities included in the position involve full-time research and co-production activities to contribute to knowledge development and promote the implementation of information-driven care. We are looking for two candidates for two-year postdoctoral positions in either of two directions.
AI in Healthcare and Implementation
The research area focuses on bridging the barriers that currently limit the use of AI systems in clinical practice. By developing expertise and conducting research, the work aims to support effective implementation of AI in healthcare. The tasks include leading and developing research on AI implementation with a focus on applicable frameworks and strategies, as well as promoting collaboration with healthcare providers and industry actors to ensure practical and successful use of AI.
AI in Healthcare and Ethics
The research area focuses on exploring various aspects of ethical issues within information-driven care. As technology and data-driven methods advance rapidly, it becomes increasingly important to carefully examine and understand the ethical implications. The research aims to review and develop ethical frameworks and guidelines to ensure responsible and ethical use of technology in healthcare, as well as to strengthen trust and acceptance among healthcare professionals and patients.
Qualifications
Eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher is someone who has obtained a doctoral degree or has a foreign degree that is assessed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled no later than at the time the employment decision is made. To be employed, preference will primarily be given to those who have obtained their degree within the last three years. When calculating the three-year time frame, the deadline for applications is the starting point. If there are special reasons, such a degree may have been obtained earlier than stated. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, trust assignments within trade unions, service in the total defense, or other similar circumstances, as well as clinical service or relevant service/assignments for the subject area.
Other Qualifications
- Doctoral degree relevant to the field of information-driven care and one of the two directions of the advertisement.
- Documented analytical ability and critical thinking.
- Ability to conduct research within the described area and to collaborate between different scientific competencies and external partners from the public sector and industry.
- Good communication skills and excellent proficiency in spoken and written Swedish and English.
In the appointment process, the assessment of the applicant's knowledge and experience of research relevant to one or both of the directions of the positions will be significant. The work takes place in a project group, so independence, collaboration skills, and flexibility are highly valued.
