Job Description

To continue meeting today's and future needs, we are now looking for an experienced water engineer to join our Quality and Connection group. In your role as a water engineer with us, you will primarily work with review and investigation issues within the water sector. You will play a central role in the development of stormwater management and provide technical support in urban development projects.

The role of water engineer is varied, and you will be involved in driving and initiating continuous improvements of processes and routines.

You will report to the group manager and be part of a team together with three water administrators and four water engineers.

The position is a permanent full-time employment, with start date according to agreement.

The position will be placed in a security class, and a security clearance including a security interview and background check may be conducted before employment.

We are located in newly renovated and modern premises in Finntorp, near Sickla Köpkvarter with good communications.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the role:

• Collaborate with Nacka municipality on investigations for future treatment needs of stormwater in the existing environment related to Nacka municipality's local action program for water.
• Provide technical support to urban development during review and investigation of future treatment needs of stormwater in the detailed planning process.
• Manage overarching water referrals as well as guidelines and governing documents related to stormwater.
• Coordinate the water department's data collection and reporting.
• Develop and update procedures and guidelines regarding stormwater together with Nacka municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has;

• A university or college degree with a focus on civil engineering, water, environment, chemistry, geology, or equivalent.
• Approximately 3-5 years of professional experience in the water sector.
• Experience working with stormwater in urban development projects and detailed plans, which is a prerequisite for success in the role.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is a prerequisite.
• We consider it an advantage if you have prior knowledge of the water bank and/or knowledge of the Public Water Services Act.

We are looking for someone who is self-driven and meticulous with the ability to independently plan, create structure, and prioritize in your work. Taking initiative, being solution-oriented, and being able to adapt to changing circumstances are important qualities for the role. You need to be communicative and also clearly informative when the situation requires.

Since the work largely involves collaboration, cooperation, and contacts with other professional categories in the water department and stakeholders within the municipality, you need to have an easy time building relationships and collaborating. We help and support each other in the workgroup, and therefore it is important that you are willing to share your knowledge and also learn from others' experiences.
