Project Leader at PTS - Strengthen Sweden's Preparedness
Do you want to use your technical skills to strengthen Sweden's preparedness? As a project leader at PTS, you will lead initiatives that enhance communication networks and services in collaboration with operators, authorities, and the business sector. Here, you will play a central role in keeping society connected even in crises.
We work with what everyone takes for granted: the ability to communicate. With us, you will ensure that it works now and in the future. For everyone.
The need for secure and robust communication in society has never been greater. To strengthen Sweden's digital resilience, PTS is undertaking a strategic initiative where the Department for Secure Communication is being divided into two new departments: Preparedness and Security Protection, and Cybersecurity.
The new Department for Preparedness and Security Protection will play a central role in developing and strengthening Sweden's ability to handle crises and ensure that society can maintain essential functions even under stress. The department works both nationally and internationally with total defense planning, preparedness measures, and crisis management to protect and strengthen Sweden's electronic communication and postal services.
Through this initiative, PTS is enhancing its preparedness capacity to better meet society's needs. We are now looking for someone who wants to contribute to ensuring society's resilience with us.
I will be your manager, Ove Landberg. I believe in your willingness and ability and lead by setting goals – how you achieve them is up to you, with support as needed. For me, collaboration, trust, and job satisfaction are important, both within the team and with the surroundings. I strive to provide varied tasks that match your skills and development, and through open dialogue, I want to create a team where everyone feels valued and motivated.
About the Role
Electronic communication is crucial for a functioning society – both in everyday life and during crises. As a project leader at PTS, you will strengthen Sweden's preparedness by driving initiatives that increase resilience in electronic communication networks and services as well as in the postal sector. You will lead analyses, collaborate with authorities, businesses, and operators, and ensure that measures are implemented.
The work is both strategic and technical, where you contribute to risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity planning, and exercises. You will represent PTS in external contacts and need to be able to create consensus to drive the work forward. Our mission is growing – with us, you will become a key player in Sweden's total defense.
About You
To succeed in the role of project leader at PTS, you need to be skilled at collaboration, have a holistic perspective, and the ability to create solutions together with others. You are unpretentious and attentive, share your knowledge, and ensure that all perspectives are considered. At the same time, you work in a structured and goal-oriented manner to ensure that decisions lead to concrete results.
Your drive and ability to work independently enable you to take initiative and push issues forward, even when guidelines are not given. You have a natural ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally, and adapt your dialogue based on context and audience – whether it concerns operators, authorities, or international partners. For us, your personal qualities are important, which is why we will place great emphasis on these.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in a technical field or equivalent experience and qualifications as assessed by PTS
- Experience leading technical projects/assignments
- Documented knowledge of the structure and function of electronic communication networks
- Very good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- Good ability to express oneself verbally and in writing in English
It is also advantageous if you have experience in:
- Developing, planning, or managing networks and services for electronic communication
- Working with threats and risks that may affect availability in electronic communication networks and services and how to protect against them
- Understanding how the market for electronic communication networks and services operates
- Working in cross-functional teams with people from different professions
- Public procurement
- The Swedish crisis preparedness system and/or total defense, acquired through work experience or education
