Water Engineer at the Community Building Administration

Responsibilities

The water engineer's main task is to develop and implement measures for renewal work on the pipeline network based on prepared investigation material, applicable to both new and existing facilities.

The role includes ordering work from the operations and service department as well as to some extent from external contractors. The role will also participate in the preparation of tender documents, design documents, and calculations, as well as participate in overall planning for the department's upcoming renewal work.

To periodically represent the water department as a technical expert in connection with detailed plans, support the project, and ensure feasibility for designed water solutions, primarily related to the pipeline network.

To assist the water investigator in practical investigation work in the field as needed.

The Community Building Administration is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and development of the municipality's properties, water, and public environments. The water department has a collective responsibility for water issues within the operational area of public water and sewage in Nynäshamn municipality. The department head is responsible for the water management and ensuring that the critical community operations function.

The department is responsible for both the strategic development of the public water facilities and holds the operational and maintenance responsibility for existing facilities.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you have:

Relevant vocational or university education with a focus or main subject in water technology, or knowledge acquired through experience that the employer deems equivalent
Experience working with water issues related to the pipeline network and its function, condition, and capacity in a municipal organization or equivalent
Good knowledge of incident reporting, handling of operational disturbances, etc.
Knowledge of relevant IT tools, such as the Office suite, water bank
Driving license B

It is advantageous if you have:

Training as a drinking water sampler
Experience from the construction side of water, for example as a pipe layer
Held a leading role such as foreman or production manager of construction jobs within water
Competence to carry out simpler measurements and setups
