About the position

As a trainee, you will receive internal introductory training with theory and practice for approximately 1 year. The training will primarily take place at our headquarters in Sundbyberg and partly at our facilities, in collaboration with one of our sister units. During the trainee program, study trips and some training will take place in other locations. During your training, you will gain a broad understanding of how the operation of Sweden's transmission network is managed through exchanges and practical experience both internally and with other external actors. You will also have the chance to build a large network and develop together with other trainees at Svenska kraftnät.

Here you will have the opportunity to gain solid knowledge about the structure of the transmission network, electrical safety, and how operational management works, while also getting an insight into the many activities that the unit collaborates with. If you want to be at the center of the energy transition while developing your electrical engineering skills and experience, this job is made for you! Here you will have the opportunity to create a good platform for further development within the unit, the Operations department, or further within Svenska kraftnät.

After completing the training and obtaining certification, you will work as a system engineer and belong to the Operations Planning unit, which is responsible for planning and coordinating outages as well as electrical safety preparations for electrical work on the transmission network's facilities. Planning is done in collaboration with maintenance contractors and Svenska kraftnät's customers who use the transmission network for electricity transfer, such as regional networks and electricity producers. As a system engineer, you will work with short-term outage planning and operational planning of electrical work near and with voltage. You will plan and establish written templates for connections in the power grid (operational orders) and work with detailed planning and prioritization of outages and electrical work during the current and upcoming two weeks.

About you

Requirements:

As a system engineer, you need to be able to plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. It is also important that you are meticulous, structured, and quality-conscious in your work. The job is based on communication and coordination, and we are therefore looking for someone with very good collaboration skills. You find it easy to communicate with others, adapt through an unpretentious focus on the common goal, and quickly find solutions to emerging challenges. Furthermore, we are looking for someone who is calm and stable and can handle urgent matters constructively while maintaining focus. We place great importance on your personal qualities.

When the program starts, you should have one of the following degrees:

• completed upper secondary education with a focus on electrical power or electrical engineering, alternatively the electrical and energy program with a focus on electrical engineering
• degree in electrical engineering from a vocational college
• bachelor's degree in electrical power or electrical engineering

or education that Svenska kraftnät assesses as relevant for the position.

The trainee program is aimed at those who are newly graduated with a maximum of two years of continuous work experience or those who are retrained with a maximum of two years of relevant work experience for the position. Furthermore, you have:

• very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing and good knowledge of English in speech and writing.

We consider it an advantage if you have completed military service.

• The employment begins with a 12-month fixed-term trainee position. The employment will transition to a permanent position upon successful certification and provided that the qualification requirements are otherwise met upon completion of the training
