The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn receives school-age boys with psychosocial issues, criminal behavior, and substance abuse.

SiS Youth Home Ryds Brunn consists of three departments with space for 21 school-age boys; one MBB department (reception and needs assessment), one open treatment department, and one secure treatment department, as well as a primary school.
Job Description
We are now looking for a special teacher for our school at Ryds Brunn. If you are driven by helping the most vulnerable youth in society, we can offer an exciting position with a high degree of variation and the opportunity to truly make a difference. SiS Ryds Brunn receives school-age boys as described above. The students are between 12 and 16 years old, but the teaching is based on where the students are in their knowledge, often with an NPF and/or IF diagnosis. Working as a special teacher is a key role in our ongoing development of our operations. The school aims to collaborate with our departments to prepare our youth for what awaits after their placement. This involves a holistic perspective with a balance between adaptation and challenge. It also means adapting for knowledge development in a safe environment here and now - developing skills, abilities, and strategies for the future.
You will participate in our systematic quality work together with school management and other professionals. This may lead to both guidance and training initiatives for you as a special teacher. Furthermore, you are expected to conduct pedagogical assessments of varying scope depending on the purpose; this can be for special support but also as part of the investigation assignments that the institution has. You will complement a group of teachers who work closely in teams to build an operation that motivates students towards educational development.
Teaching and guidance take place in small groups and are individualized as much as possible. Guidance of students is included, and you will be a mentor for 2-4 students.
Qualifications
- You are a qualified special teacher
- You have a B driver's license
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
- Experience with NPF and IF is desirable.
- Experience in school development as well as assessment and investigation work is also meritorious. As a person, you enjoy collaborating with other professionals. You have a strong empathetic ability and a good capacity to encourage, motivate, and set clear boundaries. You have a strong commitment and interest in creating the best conditions for the students. You are flexible in your working methods and easily collaborate with both colleagues and various professionals.

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
