To be considered for this position, you need to have a university degree in data/IT/network technology or similar experience that the employer deems equivalent.

You have extensive and solid experience working with products from major suppliers such as Cisco and Fortinet. Additionally, you have experience working within an IT organization and with infrastructure, preferably within the public sector.

You have experience and knowledge of network security, firewalls, and working with LAN, WLAN, and WAN.

You communicate well in both Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

Your tasks

As a network specialist, you have a central role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the municipality's entire network infrastructure. Through close collaboration with the entire department, you contribute to the development of robust and secure network solutions that support the needs of the entire organization.

You are responsible for designing and implementing sustainable and reliable network solutions, handling the configuration and maintenance of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network components. You also carry out regular upgrades of both hardware and software.

Your role also involves continuously monitoring network performance and quickly addressing any issues that may arise.

You implement and manage various network security components and measures to ensure that our network is protected against potential threats and attacks. Additionally, you continuously evaluate our network hardware, software, and communication protocols to ensure that we are using the most effective and appropriate tools for our needs.

Who are we?

Norrköping Municipality has high ambitions regarding digitalization and strives to find effective, innovative digital solutions for everyone living, working, and visiting Norrköping. We have begun a transformation journey where we are modernizing our core infrastructure, focusing more on security architecture, and transitioning from on-premise to a hybrid infrastructure and cloud services to a greater extent.

The Department of Digitalization and IT has over 95 employees working broadly within IT and business development using technology. We lead, manage, and support the municipality's IT and digitalization. The department has 6 units and is responsible for everything from operations, development, infrastructure, asset management, and support to architecture, IT and information security, e-services, idea and innovation development, as well as system development in agile development teams.

In the operations and infrastructure unit, 17 dedicated employees work on the development, operation, and management of the municipality's infrastructure and platforms.

The responsibilities also include close collaboration with implementation projects as well as procurement assignments, advice, and support in the choice of systems and solutions. In our work, we also utilize consultants both in the long and short term depending on the assignment.

The unit is also responsible for the operation, management, and development of data centers, networks, and telephony, as well as providing security components and internet access for all municipal operations.
