IT Technician in Microsoft SQL

The section provides and maintains existing functionality, security, and availability for the applications included in the agreed delivery as a service. Furthermore, the section is responsible for monitoring the IT environment of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. The position of IT technician belongs to the group for standard applications and access management. The group is responsible for the operation of business-related applications linked to the various management objects of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an IT technician within Microsoft (MS) SQL, you will be part of an engaged operations group responsible for ensuring that the core and support systems function for over 20,000 employees of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You will work with lifecycle management of MS SQL database platforms, which includes development, installation, configuration, upgrading, and decommissioning. Performance optimization, security, and scalability are important aspects to ensure the operation of services and systems as well as standardized routines for backup, recovery, and monitoring.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• High school diploma
• Experience in installation and configuration
• Experience in backup and recovery
• Experience in user management
• Experience in troubleshooting
• Several years of experience in development, daily operations, and management of Microsoft SQL database platforms
• Ability to express yourself well in spoken and written Swedish
• Knowledge of management within Microsoft SQL

It is advantageous if you have:

• Certifications in Microsoft SQL
• Courses in Microsoft SQL
• Degree from university/college in a relevant field
• Experience in clustering
• Experience in monitoring
• Experience in Performance Tuning
• Experience in SQL scripting - Important / Advantageous
