Your Role

Gripen E/F is Sweden's largest export contract and one of Sweden's largest development projects, pushing the boundaries of what is technically possible every day. It is also one of Sweden's most important projects as Gripen plays a crucial role in defending our borders and our democracy. With such a complex product as a new aircraft with many components, it is necessary to plan and manage the configurations so that we know exactly what is included in each configuration and what we send into the air, both for test flights and for delivery to customers. We are looking for you who, in the role of configuration manager, want to be the coordinator who keeps track of everything.

As a configuration manager, you will have the opportunity to create a broad network within Saab's business area Aeronautics. You and your colleagues in configuration management are the ones who formally assemble the components into a larger whole in our PLM system, Teamcenter.

You will become a central part of configuration management, and a significant part of your work will involve addressing configuration-related issues with others in the development organization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and drive the configuration work for some of our products
• Actively work with configuration objects throughout the product lifecycle
• Define and maintain product structure
• Manage decision forums regarding content in configurations
• Train and support the organization in configuration-related issues

Examples of what the group handles include change management, product configurations, and baselines, etc.

The Air Vehicle Engineering department within Gripen Design is responsible for the complete aircraft and includes requirements management, systems safety, system engineering, and configuration management. Configuration Management is an area within the department responsible for configuration management for all products within the Gripen family. The area also has strategic responsibility for configuration management. The working group you will join consists of just over 10 people with varied backgrounds in terms of education and experience.

Your Profile

We believe that your interest in technology combined with your personal qualities will determine your success in the role, even though some form of engineering degree, computer science education, or equivalent knowledge from the workplace is advantageous. Experience working in a PLM system is a plus.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being challenged by complex issues and thrives in a role where you can be proactive in solving these in a structured way. You are therefore meticulous, take responsibility, and appreciate having tasks that offer a mix of independent work and collaboration with others. We believe you have an easy time spotting patterns, getting into new systems and tasks, while not hesitating to ask questions to others when things are unclear. The ability to communicate and the willingness to develop and learn the business are significant success factors in this role.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.
